THE B E S T PHO in the bay area is here. I came back to Roots Bistro with my family to try dine in, and the experience was exceptional. The Vietnamese food was outstanding, particularly the pho, which featured a traditional bone stock broth without MSG, thinly melt in your mouth beef slices, fresh veggies, parsley and scallions--truly the best pho I've had in the Bay Area. The menu highlights their Pho cooking methods. The ribs appetizer was out of this world delicious, with a light crispy crust, tender fall-off-the-bone meat, and the dipping sauce was unique and complimented the ribs well. The shaken beef was also flavorful and finely prepared. The staff was super friendly, and the modern decor added to the pleasant atmosphere. Overall, a fantastic dining experience worth returning for. A must try!

Granted that I was there a while back (Nov & Dec 2023), but I still heard good things about it recently, so I think it's worth it to write about it. This is a modern and clean bistro serving high quality Vietnamese food. Need I say more? When a place is clean, it just puts ur mind at ease. I also think it shows the owner cares about what they do and serve. I experience the "care" through its friendly service, great food in taste and in presentation, and the cute and clean dining space. And what's up with the price?! It's very reasonable without all that crazy add ons. I hope more ppl know about this place because for both the times I was there during dinner times, the place was kind of empty. See my pictures with descriptions. Enjoy!

I think they rely heavily on their "wagyu" marketing to draw a crowd. Decent pho base but inconsistent flavor and portioning between visits. Very good when good, and not good when not. Broth strength varied from watery to very savory beefy good. One visit, the meatball was "funky" tasting due to a substitute supplier. Good thing I had a coffee to wash away the yuck. Spring and crispy rolls are good. The giant wonton on a stick is fun once.

We were so impressed when we first walked in. The place was very modern and cozy. We ordered the shaken beef (bò lúc lắc) and Pho. The food was amazing. They all tasted like mom's dishes - authentic taste with high quality traditional Vietnamese food. Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 Kid-friendliness They even have pillows on the couch. So my kids can lean their back on comfortably
